Metadata Analysis Services
1. Uncover Hidden Details Behind Digital Files
Our Metadata Analysis service reveals the often-overlooked information embedded within digital files. This hidden data—known as metadata—can expose a file’s origin, creation/modification timeline, device details, and usage history. It plays a crucial role in verifying authenticity, detecting tampering, and supporting digital investigations.
We apply forensic tools like ExifTool and PDF Analyzer to extract and analyze metadata from files including images, videos, PDFs, Office documents, and emails.
This service is essential for legal cases, fraud investigations, insurance claims, internal audits, and verifying deepfakes or manipulated content.
What Metadata We Can Extract & Analyze:
Image Files (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, etc.):
Camera make, model, and serial number
Date and time of capture (EXIF timestamps)
GPS coordinates (if geotagging is enabled)
Software used to edit or save the image
Modification history and compression metadata
Video Files (MP4, MOV, AVI, etc.):
Recording device details (phone, camera, etc.)
Frame rate, resolution, encoding data
Date/time created and modified
GPS location (if available)
Editing software traces
PDF & Document Files (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, etc.):
Author name and organization
Creation and last modified dates
Document versioning and editing history
Hidden text or metadata fields
Print and save history
Emails (PST, EML, MBOX):
Sender IP address and mail server path
Timestamps (sent, received, opened)
BCC/CC recipient lists
Attachments and content hashing
Indicators of spoofing or email forging
⚠️ Metadata Availability Disclaimer
While we use advanced forensic tools to extract metadata from digital files, 100% metadata retrieval is not always possible. The availability and completeness of metadata depend on several factors, including:
File format and software used to create or modify the file
Whether metadata has been stripped, anonymized, or altered
File transfer methods (e.g., via social media or messaging apps that remove metadata)
Compression or editing history
Operating system and application behavior
We always strive to extract all recoverable metadata; however, missing or altered metadata is common, especially in files edited, exported, or shared via third-party platforms. In such cases, we document findings transparently and may use supplementary forensic methods to verify authenticity or origin.
